Hidalgo County Biosafety Lab
The Hidalgo County Biosafety Lab is a unique and first-of-its-kind building in the Rio Grande Valley that used COVID and HUD funding for the construction of the project. The 10,000 square feet facility is comprised of a BSL-2, certified BSL-3 testing laboratory, clinic with a drive-thru area, and administration department. The Biosafety Lab has the ability to conduct a wide array of tests such as microbiology, molecular, chemistry, hematology, and mycobacteriology. The clinic consists of a nursing station, vitals room, and two exam rooms that are accessible to Hidalgo County residents. The administration department serves as support for the clinic and laboratory areas.
